Assemble ingredients for cookies: white cake mix, vegetable oil, eggs, food coloring, powdered sugar and Hershey Kisses or Hugs.

Here is what you need:

1 box white Cake Mix (15.25oz)
1/2 cup vegetable oil
2 eggs
Pink, red, or purple food coloring
½ cup powdered sugar
36 Hershey Kisses and/or Hershey Hugs, unwrapped

In a large bowl, beat together with electric mixer the white cake mix, oil, and eggs until well combined.

Step 1: In a large bowl, beat together with electric mixer the white cake mix, oil, and eggs until well combined.

Divide the batter evenly between 3 bowls and add food coloring to each.

Step 2: (Optional) Divide the batter evenly between 3 bowls and add 4-5 drops of food coloring and mix well. You can also add sprinkles to batter and mix. Cover each bowl and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes.

Roll dough into balls and coat in powdered sugar then place on cookie sheet.

Step 3: Preheat oven to 350F. Roll 1 Tbsp (or less) dough into ball and generously roll in powdered sugar. Place on a baking sheet lined with parchment. The cookies will spread, so leave at least 1 inch spacing.

Bake until cookies have crinkled.

Step 4: Bake for 8 minutes or until cookies have spread and the tops look “crinkled”. Don’t over bake!

Place Hershey kisses in the center of cookies.

Step 5: Remove from oven and allow the cookies to cool for 1-2 minutes. Then place an unwrapped Kiss or Hug in the center of each cookie. After the cookies have cooled slightly on the baking sheet (15 minutes), move to cooling rack. Allow to cool completely and store in an airtight container for up to 1 week.
